Easter is just around the corner and there are lots of egg-citing events happening in Conwy County to celebrate the occasion. With egg hunts, sword searches and an Easter 5k Promenade Dash, there is something for everyone to enjoy in the county. Here are our top 10 picks:
- Easter Eggstravaganza at Welsh Mountain Zoo
Dates: 6th April 2019 – 28th April 2019
Welsh Mountain Zoo is hosting an egg trail for three weeks over the Easter holidays. Every completed trail handed in at the shop will be exchanged for an awesome chocolate egg to take home!
Between 19th April 2019 and 22nd April 2019, the zoo will also be hosting its first ever Easter egg hunt! The hunt will take place twice a day, at 10.30am and 2.30pm. Everyone gets a prize at the end of each hunt! This event is FREE of charge but places need to be booked in advance as there is a limit of 15 children per session.

- Dragon Fforest at Zip World
Dates: 6th April 2019 – 28th April 2019
Zip World Fforest is set to transform for Easter to become Dragon Fforest! Can you spot all the treasure in the forest as you soar through the trees on the Dragon Flyer? Or can you collect all the treasure on your quest along the Hoppity Hoppers adventure course?
If you think you’re up to the challenge then join in the fun at Zip World in Betws-y-Coed. There will also be activities such as egg hunts, crafts, biscuit decorating and face painting! Click here for further information.
- Hunt for eggs at Bodnant Garden
Dates: 19th April 2019 – 22nd April 2019
The annual Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt is returning to Bodnant Garden this year. Follow the clues around the garden and explore the various fields, woods, hills and streams to find the carefully hidden chocolate.

- Easter Sword Search at Conwy Castle

Dates: 19th April 2019 – 22nd April 2019
Looking for a unique Easter trail? Head to Conwy Castle and help the castle’s night watchman, Daf, recover his twelve missing swords. Count the swords around the castle and mark their location on the map before the constable finds out they’re missing!
You will also have the opportunity to design your very own shield, whilst learning about some of the commonly-used symbols and motifs in medieval weaponry.

- Easter Dragon Egg Hunt at Gwrych Castle
Dates: 19th April 2019 – 22nd April 2019
Can you help Lord Thomas? His pet dragon has escaped and laid eggs all around Gwrych Castle. Lord Thomas now needs help finding them all. If you can find all of the eggs, you will be rewarded with a surprise in the formal gardens.
DOG FRIENDLY: Dogs are allowed providing they are on a short lead, so bring your canine friends along to join in the fun!

Llyn Brenig is located at the heart of the Mynydd Hiraethog and is a centre for outdoor activities, including walking, cycling, fishing and sailing. This Easter, you can embark on an egg hunt around the visitor centre, whilst enjoying the picturesque landscape and natural beauty of the location.

Want to keep fit this Easter before indulging in delicious chocolate treats? The 5k Promenade Dash uses an accurately measured fast and flat out and back course along the Llandudno Promenade, suitable for experienced runners and beginners alike. On completion, you will be rewarded with Easter eggs and other seasonal goodies, as well as a medal to mark your victory.

- Easter Egg Hunt and Crafts at Conwy RSPB
Date: 21st April 2019
The Easter Bunny has visited RSPB Conwy and hidden some special treats. Can you find all of the clues and solve the riddles to lead you to some surprises? There will be three egg hunts throughout the day between 10:30am and 2:30pm. Once you’ve completed your egg hunt, unleash your creative side and produce some fabulous Easter crafts to take home with you.

Plas Mawr is an Elizabethan townhouse located in Conwy and is arguably the finest townhouse of its period in Britain. The Easter Bunny certainly seems to think so, as he will be hiding there this Easter Sunday. Can you complete the trail and find the Easter Bunny’s hiding place to win a prize? - Easter Egg Trail, Tŷ Mawr Wybrnant

Tŷ Mawr Wybrnant is a house located in the Wybrnant Valley, in the community of Bro Machno, near Betws-y-Coed in Conwy County, North Wales. On 22nd April, you’re invited to see if you can forage for signs of spring and find the woodland creatures emerging from a long winter. Search high and low for all the animals on the puzzle trail to receive your Cadbury chocolate prize.
