We’re a busy lot in these parts. There’s always something happening, whatever the season, whatever the weather.
Go to the theatre at Llandudno (not any old theatre, but the best and biggest in North Wales), where Venue Cymru stages everything from comedy to opera, drama to dance.
Bodnant Garden is a National Trust gem that shines brightly throughout the year. Come for its famous Laburnum Arch in late spring/early summer, or its ‘Autumn Colour Tree Walk’, one of the many guided walks and special events regularly held here.
For more wild things (including orchids) there’s Conwy’s RSPB Nature Reserve. Birds come and go as the seasons change – learn more about its seasonal highlights by dipping into its diverse range of events and activities.
Venue Cymru, Bodnant and Conwy’s Nature Reserve are just three of the many reasons to pay us a visit at any time of the year. Each season brings something special to our coastline, hills and mountains.
Get wrapped up… in winter a break
Cosy up to chilly winter in a country inn (log fire compulsory) after a crisp walk in Snowdonia. You might even be able to celebrate a snowy White Christmas up there, though it’s guaranteed that you’ll enjoy the Christmas shopping for those special gifts at places like Betws-y-Coed, Conwy and Rhos-on-Sea.
Throughout November and December there’s so much for you to enjoy. From dare-devil adventure to delicious food and drink and stunning scenery. Try your next winter break the North Wales way.
See in the New Year in style at a comfy seafront hotel, or help us celebrate St Dwynwen’s Day (she’s the patron saint of lovers, our very own Welsh Valentine) on 25 January.
Spring is a season of firsts: the first blush of deep green along the lovely Conwy Valley, and the first hint of summer warmth on the coast. And the first day of March, of course, is St David’s Day, when we celebrate our patron saint with an excess of daffodils, leeks, dancing and good fun.
By Easter and May Bank Holiday things are in full swing. Then it’s into summer proper, when there’s more to do every day than you can shake a stick at – from Punch and Judy on the prom to arts, walking and music festivals.
By autumn, it’s quietened down a little – the perfect time to get wrapped up for that walk along the beach or in the woods (which, we have to say, look remarkably russety at this time of the year). Or head to Conwy for one of Wales’ best food festivals.
Soon it will be Christmas… which is where we came in.
