Things to Do
If we put our mind to it we could probably come up with attractions and things to do in Conwy County that covered the entire alphabet.
‘A’ is easy. It stands for Arts (lots of this). ‘Z’ is pretty simple too. That’s Zoo (Colwyn Bay Welsh Mountain Zoo).
‘B’ stands for boat trips or beach activities, ‘C’ for crafts, cable cars, castle spotting, canoeing or Colwyn Bay beach … you get the picture.
At one time, long ago – well, not that long, actually – we were happy simply to sit on the beach.
Nowadays, if you want that kind of experience you go on ‘fly and flop’ holidays, which actually can be quite stressful, especially since they often come with lots of airport hassle.
Far better to do something when you’re away – as many of you have discovered.
Lots of our visitors nowadays come for new experiences, or to pursue a favourite activity or hobby.
They’ll follow walking and heritage trails, possibly with a guide or beat their own paths to some of our hidden gems.
In terms of active things to do in Conwy County, the casual walker will fancy taking a walk on the famous Llandudno Pier, and for the more determined walker, attempting to conquer the Great Orme will be a rewarding feat.
Things to do in Conwy County is not just limited to activity and attractions - food, drink and shopping also play their parts.
Our food scene is fresh, healthy and very local (think Conwy mussels and succulent mountain-reared lamb) and there’s great retail therapy too (Llandundo is North Wales’s top shopping centre).
And when the lights go down Llandudno’s Venue Cymru cranks up the excitement, staging everything from opera to pop, drama to alternative comedy.
And another firm favourite that attracts big audiences is the nine-screen multiplex at Llandudno Junction.
To find out about specific things to do in one of our fabulous towns, such as Betws-y-Coed, Abergele, Rhos-on-Sea, Llanrwst, Towyn and Deganwy, visit our Towns and Villages section.
