Llyn Aled and Hiraethog Moors

About

The deep lake of Llyn Aled is located high on the Hiraethog moors. The shoreline is treeless and this bleak location at 250ft above sea level can be breezy, but the surrounding moorland and views are beautiful. The lake water is stained an attractive amber by the surrounding peat, provides good stocks of perch, pike and roach to fish. Access is via the narrow single-track mountain access road from the A543 and near the stream outlet.
